COLUMBIA, Mo. – Due to winter weather, University of Missouri officials have announced a full closure of the MU campus and UM System offices from 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, until 11:59 p.m. Friday. Only employees who are situationally critical will need to report for work during that time.

“Working with the Boone County Office of Emergency Management, we have decided to close our campus at 2 p.m. today due to winter weather that is impacting roads in the area,” said Gary Ward, MU vice chancellor for operations. “We realize that this has been an unusual winter and appreciate the campus community’s flexibility. We are very grateful to our employees who have worked during these closures to ensure our campus remains safe.”

Admissions offices will remain open for visitors and prospective students throughout the day on Friday. As the campus is scheduled to be fully operational on Saturday, Meet Mizzou Day will occur on its regular schedule.

All MU Health Care hospitals will remain open. The Veterinary Health Center Hospital will be open for normal hours of operation. For more information on MU Health Care, please visit muhealth.org/news. Campus Dining Services will keep all residential and select retail locations open, although hours may be limited based on available staffing.

Please check specific university websites for hours and information on other services.

Employees should check with their supervisors who will identify those needed to fulfill critical duties. Details about closure policies for MU and the UM System can be found at the link below:
