February 1st, 2011

Story Contact: , munewsbureau@missouri.edu

MU Chancellor Brady Deaton has announced full closure of the MU campus for Wednesday, Feb. 2, with all classes cancelled. UM System administration employees are included in this closure. Students are again asked to notify their families.

All MU Health Care hospitals remain open 24/7. The MU Student Center, Student Recreation Complex (use Hitt St. entrance only) and most dining facilities are open. Ellis Library is closed. Following this weather emergency closure of the university, plans will be made and announced in the near future regarding makeup classes, missed exams and appropriate adjustments to the academic calendar. Faculty should not make any adjustments to class and final exam schedules until these discussions and final decisions occur later this week or next.

Students, faculty, staff and parents should check MU Alert for future updates. The university will announce plans for Thursday, Feb. 3, prior to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

We send sincere thanks to all those “situationally critical” employees who are hard at work clearing the campus, keeping essential services in operation and providing the best possible environment for our students under very difficult conditions.
