CALENDAR ITEM: Internationally Recognized Professor to Discuss Constitutional Law at MU

WHAT: The James D. Ellis Distinguished Lawyer in Residence lecture series at the University of Missouri School of Law will host the presentation, “The Law of the Land: A Grand Tour of Our Constitutional Republic.”

WHO: The lecture will be presented by Akhil Amar, Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University. He will discuss his latest book, The Law of the Land, which illustrates how geography, federalism and regionalism have influenced constitutional law. In addition, he will specifically address how the constitution differs in Missouri.

Amar is considered one of the preeminent constitutional law scholars in the world and has published numerous law review articles and books on the U.S. Constitution. He has been cited in more than 30 U.S Supreme Court cases and has won awards from both the American Bar Association and the Federalist Society.
