Media advisory:  MU Wheelchair Relay Will Promote Disability Awareness

WHAT:

The 2008 Wheelchair Relay to promote disability awareness is a contest that will include shooting baskets, an obstacle course, navigating a fake mine field and a relay. All tasks must be completed by participants while navigating in wheelchairs.

WHO:

The relay is sponsored by the University of Missouri School of Health Professions, Student Physical Therapy Organization, Four Winds Learning Community and Tiger Wheelchair Basketball.

WHERE:        

MU Student Recreation Complex, MU Campus             

WHEN:

10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 5

WHY:             

The event raises money for the MU Tiger Wheelchair Basketball team.

NOTE:           

Registration is $25 per team of four members. Applications are located in the Physical Therapy Office in 106 Lewis Hall, MU Campus. The deadline for applications is April 3.
