MEDIA ADVISORY: MU to Host Bond Lecture Series on Energy

WHAT: The University of Missouri will host the Christopher S. “Kit” Bond Lecture Series featuring speakers and panelists who will discuss the economic and environmental impact of current and alternative forms of energy, as well as the associated policies and politics. The lecture series will feature an appearance by former Missouri Senator Kit Bond, along with other speakers who will discuss different aspects of energy, energy’s relation to Missouri’s economic, and a question-and-answer panel.

Three topics will be discussed at the lecture: “Social Development Through Coal Energy,” “Current State of Energy in Missouri,” and “Private Sector: Responding to the Challenge.” Additionally, Bond will discuss energy and politics at the end of the event.

The event is free and open to the public.

Frank Clemente, professor emeritus of social science and energy policy at Pennsylvania State University

Daniel Beck, supervisor of engineering analysis, energy unit, Missouri Public Service Commission

Cerry Klein, professor of engineering at MU, facilitator for Sustainable Energy, Mizzou Advantage

Jared Wilmes, director of biomass operations, MFA Oil company

Floyd Gilzow, director of member relations and public affairs, Missouri Public Utility Alliance

Moderator: Michael Middleton, deputy chancellor at MU
